About Our Boston Red Sox

More than half of the 2013 Major League Baseball season has already been played. The All-Star game has already been played, and the American League won it. Now we can seriously consider the possibility of reaching various objectives that we had for the Red Sox this year.

1. End the 2012 Nightmare Season for the Red Sox: Just 69 Wins

With the Boston Red Sox current record of 59 wins and 39 losses (before Saturday's game) and a score of +32.8 on the UBWS (#UnlessBigWinningStreak) scale, the Red Sox are ten (10) games away from the amount of wins that the team had all last year. After we reach this objective, we can begin to walk on a road of hope for this year's team.

2. Reach Our 2013 Objective for the Red Sox: 81 wins

Our preseason hope for this team was to have a season's record of 81 wins and 81 losses.

3. Do Better Than the 2011 Collapse of the Red Sox: 90 Wins

In the midst of the 2011 despair caused by not playing well in September and finishing just one (1) game behind Tampa Bay for a wild-card position, we tend to forget the good record that the team had for the entire season: 90 wins and 72 losses.

4. Qualify for the 2013 Playoffs: 95 Wins

If the Boston Red Sox maintain the same pace as they did during the first half of this season, they can reasonably hope to make it to the playoffs this year with 95 wins and a UBWS score of +28.0. This number of wins and UBWS score should be enough to at least win one (1) of the two (2) wild-card spots or probably the Eastern Division Championship of the American League.

5. Win the One-Game Series Between the Two (2) American League Wild-Card Winners

If we were to win one (1) of the two (2) wild-card spots, there would be just one (1) game to determine which team advances to the next round of the playoffs.

6. Win the Short Series by Winning Three (3) out of Five (5) Games

In this round we would need to win three (3) out of a possible five (5) games played against an American League rival which would be a Division winner or Wild-Card winner.

7. Win the American League Championship This Year by Winning Four (4) out of a Possible Seven (7) Games

In this round we would need to win four (4) out of a possible seven (7) games to win the American League Championship this year.

8. Win the 2013 World Series by Winning Four (4) out of a Possible Seven (7) Games

In this round we would once again need to win four (4) out of possible seven (7) games against the National League Champion team for this year.

Let's go, Red Sox! All of these objectives are within our reach! Let's win another game against the New York Yankees today!
