About Our Boston Red Sox More than half of the 2013 Major League Baseball season has already been played. The All-Star game has already been played, and the American League won it. Now we can seriously consider the possibility of reaching various objectives that we had for the Red Sox this year. 1. End the 2012 Nightmare Season for the Red Sox: Just 69 Wins With the  Boston Red Sox current record  of 59 wins and 39 losses (before Saturday's game) and a score of +32.8 on the UBWS (#UnlessBigWinningStreak) scale, the Red Sox are ten (10) games away from the amount of wins that the team had all last year. After we reach this objective, we can begin to walk on a road of hope for this year's team. 2. Reach Our 2013 Objective for the Red Sox: 81 wins Our preseason hope for this team was to have a season's record of 81 wins and 81 losses. 3. Do Better Than the 2011 Collapse of the Red Sox: 90 Wins In the midst of the 2011 despair caused by not playing well in Septemb

NEW ENGLAND PROFESSIONAL SPORTS REPORT  June 30, 2013 Concerning the Boston Red Sox Yesterday the Toronto Blue Jays (now 40-40) beat our first place #Boston Red Sox team (now 49-34) by the score of 6-2. NEW ENGLAND PROFESSIONAL SPORTS REPORT  June 29, 2013 Concerning the Boston Red Sox Our first place #Boston Red Sox team started well the second half of the season, winning last night's game  7-5. The Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays again and raised their #UBWS (Unless Big Winning Streak) score to +32.0. Allen Webster pitched better, although Coach Farrell should have removed him sooner, after the sixth inning. Andrew Bailey, the first reliever, struck out two batters and gave up his habitual home run. Andrew Miller and Koji Uehara, the following relievers, did a really good job. The batters started well, scoring runs in the second, third and fourth innings. All of the starting Boston batters had at least one hit, excep for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Five batters had two or more hits. Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Stephen Drew, and Jonny Gomes had key hits. As of today, the daily composite score for each team in the Eastern Division of the American League is the following:
SPORTS REPORT  June 28, 2013 A lot has been happening in Boston professional sports recently. Our Boston Bruins had a good shot at winning the Stanley Cup finals. Our #New England Patriots are in the news because of the Hernandez situation. Our #Boston Celtics lost the coach. They will face an apparent turnover in players. And, last but not least, our #Boston Red Sox team has reached the middle of its season. They are in first place in the Eastern Division of the American League. At their current pace, they could win 95 games and qualify for the postseason. Concerning the Boston Red Sox  The Red Sox won yesterday 7-4, beating the Toronto Blue Jays. Jon Lester pitched well, backed up by relievers Tazawa and Uehara. The batters had a big second inning, scoring all seven of their runs. All of the Boston batters had at least one hit, except for Mike Carp. I especially liked Dustin Pedroia's home run and Saltalamacchia's two hits. As I stated yesterday, last night's game
SPORTS REPORT: 6-27-2013 Concerning Boston Red Sox   Today is symbolically important for the #Boston Red Sox. First, of course, the Red Sox beat the Colorado Rockies last night 5-3. John Lackey and two relievers pitched well. Boston's batters, especially Shane Victorino, also did well. Secondly, tonight's game marks the halfway point of this season. If the Red Sox win tonight, they will be more than halfway to my expected season's results (81-81). They would also be a half game beyond my dream for this season's results (95-67). And, of course, Boston is in good shape to reach last season's win total (69) perhaps in late July or early August.    Concerning Boston's #UBWS (Unless Big Win Streak) statistics, the team is once again over thirty, +30.4 to be exact. The Red Sox had slipped a little bit due to recent losses at Detroit. They made up ground by beating the Rockies in their short series. The Eastern Division of the America League now looks like the fo
SPORTS REPORT : June 26, 2013 Concerning Boston Red Sox  The Boston Red Sox won last night's game against the Colorado Rockies 11-4. The Baltimore Orioles, the New York Yankees, and the Tampa Bay Rays also won yesterday, while Toronto lost. How does this affect the Eastern Division of the American League (AL)?  We measure a Major League Baseball team's performance using some statistics which produce what we call an "Unless Big Winning Streak" score.Once a team reached a negative score, UBWS it is impossible to make it to the postseason. Here are today's UBWS scores for the Eastern Division of the AL: Boston: +29.6 New York Yankees: +25.2 Baltimore: +24.8  Tampa Bay: +18.8 Toronto: +13.2 At the moment, all of these teams are a good bit above the negative zone. However, a short while ago, Toronto was near that zone. UBWS the Blue Jays were in trouble. So, the team started a big winning streak. It cut in half its distance from the division leader. Briefl
June 25, 2013 On Monday, June 24, 2013, the Boston Red Sox had a well-deserved day off. However, four Major League Baseball games were played. The results from the two American League (AL) games indirectly affected Boston. Neither of them affected the Red Sox directly. Using our "Unless Big Winning Streak" (UBWS) statistics, Boston still maintains a +28.8 score. If the Red Sox's UBWS score remains close to this level for the rest of the season, it should be enough to get them into the 2013 playoffs. As we stated above, the results from the two American League games did affect Boston, but only indirectly. Three Eastern division teams were involved in yesterday AL games. The Cleveland Indians won their game with the Baltimore Orioles; Cleveland's UBWS score rose from +17.1 to +18.4. Baltimore lost the game. Their UBWS score dropped slightly from +24.7 to +24.0. The Tampa Bay Rays won the other game. Their UBWS score rose from +16.7 to +18.0. The Toronto Blue Jays lo
2013 Major League Baseball Postseason Projections I have been analyzing the Major League Baseball teams this season using my statistics called "Unless Big Win Streak" (UBWS). Once a team reaches and maintains a final negative score, UBWS it will not make it to the playoffs. Will your team make it this year? Which teams already have a final negative score?
Estamos casi a la mitad de la temporada del 2013 de los Medias Rojas de Boston. ¿Qué piensas acerca del equipo? ¿Qué piensas acerca de sus posibilidades de clasificar para la postemporada de este año?
We are almost at the halfway point of the 2013 season for the Boston Red  Sox. What do you think about the team? Will they make the playoffs this year?
